Are you someone who keeps refreshing media apps and is completely absorbed in the latest news? Do you like to follow politicians from The Hague and do you know what is going on in the Netherlands? Do you know the ins and outs of well-known campaigns and social media hypes? Would you like to get a story in the newspaper? Do you get energy from organizations and companies that are fully committed to a better society? And are you ready for a serious challenge in which you can try out and learn a lot of new things? If this sounds like you, then we will hopefully soon be your colleagues and internship supervisor!

We are Issuemakers: strategic communication advisors, with a strong sense of content. Together with our clients, we formulate social ambitions or sharpen them, in order to then convert them into positive impact for organizations and on society. In this way, we want to help accelerate social transitions. Together with clients who (want to) have an impact, we work on solutions for the challenges of today and the future. We do this by monitoring, managing and creating issues. And based on a broad, cross-disciplinary approach.

And we are looking for an enthusiastic, socially driven and independently working intern who can support us in various (communication) activities. A curious intern who wants to tackle all kinds of different things, who works proactively, loves to sift through information and enjoys working on all kinds of different assignments at the same time. We offer you a very diverse internship where you can roll up your sleeves.

What are you going to do with us?

No day is the same. Sometimes you are busy for 1 or 2 large clients, sometimes perhaps for 5 smaller ones at the same time. Sometimes we have to stand still for a while, on other days we run together for a customer. Your planning sometimes needs to be revised, because a colleague or client requires this urgently.

During your internship you may well do at least the following things once:

• Compiling substantive files for various clients, about them
social issue, news facts and more.
• (Under supervision) drafting (press) texts, sending out press releases.
• Monitoring various media and other sources for clients.
• General support for the account teams, for example by providing support during a training or meeting, by reporting, by making presentations, by drawing up invitations, by brainstorming and advising and more.
• Participate in our internal profiling team, create a newsletter or messages for our own website or social media channels.
• Support in organizing our Issue Congress, the annual Issue Lecture or another, own event.

What can you expect from us?

An internship is successful if both you and we benefit from it and learn something from it. We would love it if you enjoy working with us, but you can also expect things from us, such as:

• Good guidance by a permanent supervisor who will show you the ropes in the beginning and who you can always contact.
• A safe working environment with an eye for diversity and inclusion, a clear policy regarding inappropriate behavior and open discussions about these topics.
• The space to give your feedback and to indicate what you would like to learn or work on.
• Knowledge sessions, lunch lectures and other meetings at our office, which you can attend.
• An internship allowance of €500 per month.

What do we expect from you?

• You are socially driven/interested
• You can plan and organize well and are flexible to deviate from this
• You have a good command of Dutch – and preferably also English – both spoken and written
• You are communicative and social
• You are driven, curious and inventive
• You are proactive and enterprising
• You want to learn things and enjoy sharing your knowledge and insights with us
• You have knowledge of social media
• You have an affinity with communication, media and politics
• You are following a bachelor's or master's degree program at a higher professional or university institution and want a full-time internship of at least 5 months. Interns for a research internship are therefore not eligible.

Finally, we would like to note that as Issuemakers we like to connect with the diverse society we work for. We look forward to welcoming more different perspectives and backgrounds into our team. We therefore explicitly invite people from all backgrounds to apply.

And? Would you like to do an internship with us from September 2025? Then we invite you to send a letter of application including CV to . Do you want to ask something before you apply? That is also possible. Send an email to Michelle Derks at mderks@issuemakers.
