What is corporate social responsibility?

Corporate social responsibility became popular between 2005 and 2015; So MBO. Philanthropy was central: together with employees, we worked on a social goal that the organization considered important. Organizations determined the charity and employees invested time and expertise in this. Companies set up their own foundations to stimulate and promote MBO. The idea behind corporate social responsibility was that companies partly benefit society from the money they earned based on traditional business models.

This form of social entrepreneurship was often driven by HRM and the emphasis was on doing relevant things together. The link with the organization's mission, products and activities was not always clear. As a result, this form of entrepreneurship was outside the organization and the impression was quickly created that it was more about image building than about actually achieving relevant changes.
